Global Aging Partners (GAP) | Young No More Young No More JFR's work in developing countries began with an invitation in 2002 by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) to visit Nicaragua. As a result of this visit, JFR was determined to use Nicaragua, the second poorest country in the western hemisphere, as a test case to develop a sustainable, replicable model to address the issues of a rapidly increasing aging population in developing countries. This is supported by projects such as creating potable water supply systems and assisting in the development of micro-enterprises to generate income to support indigent elders, and developing certified training. |
